Martha Hodges Secretary
- Serves as administrative assistant to the state
resource conservationist
- Works with a multi-disciplined technical staff
which consist of a water quality specialist, grassland specialist, wildlife
biologist, agronomist, economist, plant materials specialist, cultural
resources specialist and forester
- Provides correspondence, letters, bulletins,
reports, schedules, etc. for the Ecological Sciences staff and other NRCS
employees, conservation partners, and customers
- Arranges meetings and conferences for the staff
- Analyzes time and attendance
- Responsible for the procurement of supplies,
materials, equipment, furniture, etc. for the staff

Alan Holditch Forester
- Serves as state forester for all phases of forest planning and
management and its effects on the environment by providing technical
assistance to the state of Mississippi

Glynda Clardy State Wildlife Biologist
- Has overall state leadership responsibilities for furnishing technical
guidance and coordination for NEPA, Wetland Conservation, Fish and Wildlife
Habitat Management/Restoration activities
- The consideration of effects of other resource concerns and associated
practices on fish and wildlife in the state of Mississippi
- The planning, development, and implementation of biology phase of NRCS
work in Mississippi

Walter Jackson Grazing Land Specialist
- Has overall staff leadership responsibilities for
furnishing technical guidance and coordination for pasture, range, grazeable
woodlands and native resources and their impact on other resource concerns
in the conservation programs in the state of Mississippi
- Works with the ASTC (Technology) and other members
of the Ecological Sciences Staff and field specialist in the development of
the grazing lands program in the state and in the development of state
policies, objectives, plans and procedures relative to the agronomic phases
of the overall conservation program.
- Make interpretations of national and state policies
and procedures
- Develops grassland technical standards,
specifications, techniques, methods and procedures for technical guidance of
field personnel
- From technical knowledge, experience and available
research, keeps current technical guides for statewide use
- Develops adaptations of these guides to fit varying
conditions in different localities
- Prepares grassland research needs reports
- Works with the PMC manager in evaluating forage
plantings at the Plant Material Center and selects sites in various sections
of the state for field plantings
- Works with the Mississippi Grazing Lands
Conservation Initiative Steering Committee to promote best management
practices on grazing lands

Marion Reed Agricultural Economist
- Coordinates maintenance of state and county cost
lists that include cost-shared practices, maintenance of conservation
practices, and costs for providing conservation technical assistance
- Collaborates with other federal, state and local
agencies and individuals to secure data for economic studies, analyze these
as to adaptability an use in the studies being made
- Assists in collecting and analyzing economic data
for natural resource project activities related to floodwater damages
- Coordinates maintenance of planning certification
spreadsheet for those employees seeking certification

James (Cliff) Jenkins Cultural Resources Specialist
- Serves as a technical specialist in the
identification, evaluation and protection of cultural resources associated
with natural and human resource conservation measures.
- Responsible for technical guidance on
implementation of cultural resources compliance requirements

John A. Lee, Jr. Conservation Agronomist
- To Provide assistance to the state and area offices
in administering agronomic technical assistance and the related agronomic
disciplines
- Provides technical guidance and direct assistance
to field offices in order to solve agronomic problems on individual farms or
group projects and assists in the promotion of conservation management
practices
- Reviews and evaluates effectiveness of conservation
plans and applied resource management systems, and makes recommendations to
the Assistant State Conservationist (FO) for improvements in policies,
procedures and alternative treatments on cropland resources
- Provides leadership and guidance in the design,
development and implementation of complex agronomic systems
- Provides leadership in promotion of soil quality,
no-till and other related practices through public information activities
(tours, conferences, individual contacts, etc.)
- Work with agricultural industry to address
nutrient, soil and water quality management

Tommy Moss Research Agronomist
- Evaluation and research of plant species that show
promise for use in conservation
- Involving assisting in the development of research
projects, collecting/ analyzing data, preparing reports of summarized
data/conclusions from research and overseeing greenhouse operations

James O. Pomerlee Gardner
- Cultivates and cares for
ornamental plants and installs floral displays in indoor or outdoor settings
through performance of any combination of following duties as directed by
supervisory personnel.
- Conditions and prepares soils and plants seeds,
seedlings or bulbs in greenhouse or outdoor growing area, using spades,
trowels, sprayers, sprinklers, cultivators and other gardening hand tools.
- Fertilizes, waters, weeds, transplants or thins plants in growing areas.
Mixes and applies pesticides to maintain health of plants and prepare plants
for installation in greenhouse or outdoor display areas.
- Maintains and repairs gardening hand tools and
equipment and structures, such as greenhouses and hot beds, using
maintenance tools.

Jon K. Allison Gardner
- Duties at the PMC involve all aspects of our
foundation seed program from initial increases of early plant releases, to
full production in order to supply the commercial growers with the needed
plant materials developed at the center.
- Involves a lot of agronomic and farming
practices. Planting, weed and pest control, irrigation, harvesting and seed
cleaning.
- Soil fertility, crop rotation and application of
conservation practices are required
- Assisting the manager and agronomist in our
research studies from technical standpoint.
- Off center duties include plantings and
demonstrations of plant based conservation practices.

Cassandra Meyer Secretary
- Provides administrative support at the PMC to
include all business related activities that are necessary to meet the
center's overall mission in developing plant technology for conservation
needs.
