Coastal Streams Watershed

The total estimated surface area in the Coastal Streams Watershed is 1,055,300 acres.  This watershed is located in southern Mississippi and southwest Alabama. The watershed area is located in the Lower Coastal Plain.

The land uses in this watershed consist of non-irrigated cropland and pastureland.  The topography ranges from gently rolling hills to flat river bottom.  The soils range from generally well drained soils to moderately well drained.

There are 1,202 farms within this watershed, and the average farm size is 99 acres.  Cropland consists of 18,200 total acres and pastureland consists of 83,900 total acres.
