Fall Field Day at Jamie L. Whitten Plant Materials Center
Educates Landowners and Employees

"The Jamie L. Whitten Plant Materials Center in Coffeeville, Mississippi,
hosted two field days in November providing an opportunity for employees and
landowners to become more aware of the center and the research conducted there,"
according to Paul Rodrique, PMC Manger.
On November 1, an employee tour promoted the transfer of plant materials
technology to the field for PMC, NRCS state and area office specialists and
district employees. Field stops included: wildlife food plots, alley
cropping, silvopasture and vegetative barriers.
The November 2, field day was designed to promote wildlife conservation for
private landowners. Over 75 participants, representing 17 counties
attended the two-day event.
Exhibits were provided by Delta Wildlife, Extension Service-Fisheries, MACD
and NRCS.
