NRCS and Mississippi Department of Archives and History Sign Cultural
Resources Agreement
To show
implementation of cultural resource policies by NRCS, respect for
history and conservation planning with clients, NRCS and the Mississippi
Department of Archives History recently signed an agreement to work as
partners in protecting Mississippi's cultural resource heritage.
"This is a
good day when two government agencies can sign an agreement like this to
help protect and conserve state historical properties, " stated Hank
Holmes, Director of the Mississippi Department of Archives State
Historical Preservation Office.
The agreement
will allow NRCS to effectively ensure that effects of conservation
activities on historic properties are thoroughly considered in the
earliest planning stages and that protection of historic properties is
accomplished as efficiently as possible.
