Wesley Kerr, Area Conservationist, Hattiesburg, MS

Wesley Kerr was born and reared in Yalobusha County, MS. He attended Water
Valley High School and colleges at Alcorn State University and The
University of Southern Mississippi. He received a BS degree in
Agricultural Education. Wesley's past positions include: District
Conservationist, Monticello, MS, Soil Conservationist, Calhoun City, MS,
Forestry Technician for International Paper Company, Lucedale, MS; Perkinston,
MS, Redd Pest Control. He serves now as the Area Conservationist for the
South Area consisting of 24 counties and more than 85 local, state and federal
employees with mission to conserve, protect, enhance and sustain our natural
resources.
Wesley's current emphasis is debris removal and erosion damage caused by
Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and the implementation of the Fiscal Year 2006 Farm Bill
Programs.
His hobbies are hunting, fishing and gardening.
