Tom Heard, Area Conservationist, Tupelo, MS

Tom Heard is a native of West Point, MS.  He graduated high school in Decatur, MS.  Tom attended East Central Junior College and graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Agronomy.  He began his career with the Soil Conservation Service in 1976 as a student trainee in Raleigh, MS.  After graduation from MSU in 1977, he worked in the Greenville and Canton field offices.  In March of 1981, he was promoted to district conservationist in Vicksburg, MS and in 1984 was reassigned to the Canton Field Office as District Conservationist.  In 2007, Tom was promoted to his current position, Area Conservationist in Tupelo, MS.
