Kurt Readus, Area Conservationist, Pearl, MS

Kurt was born and raised in Huntsville, AL.  He is a graduate of J.O. Johnson High School.  He went on to receive a B.S. degree in Environmental Science from Alabama A&M University in Normal, AL.

He began his career as s student trainee, where he worked in Alabama and Arizona.  Upon graduation, he accepted a soil conservationist position in Phoenix, AZ.  He later became a district conservationist in Avondale, AZ.  As of July 2007, Kurt became Area Conservationist in Pearl, MS, where he currently provides leadership and direction to twenty one counties in Central Mississippi. His oversight responsibility includes more than 80 local, state and federal employees with the mission to conserve, protect, enhance and sustain natural resources within Mississippi.

Kurt is passionate about the conservation of our nation's natural resources as he has been known to say "Productive Soil & Clean Water is the foundation of life."
